I don't know about you, but this winter weather has left my skin parched and begging for moisture. I have my regular go-to creams, but lately many things have caused me some irritation or just no longer have the same effect. Either way, the lovely people from Maple Holistics sent me some body butter to try and their timing couldn't be better. I generally prefer body butters over body lotion, because of the consistency but some butters are just far too thick.
Made in the U.S. with premium grade, organic ingredients and sulfate free--I couldn't wait to give this a try. Here's the breakdown;
Product: Moisturizing Cream(body butter) Therapeutic Formula
Primary/Active Ingredients: Shea Butter, Vitamin E, Cocoa, Glycerin
Consistency: Semi-thick. Does not run,and not so thick it's hard to apply. Thick enough that it stays in place until massaged into skin.
Texture: Smooth and light. Feels like a jar of whipped butter
Product Claim: Restorative cream that moisturizes and protects.
Verdict: After using for one week, and yes that's a full size jar, overall I am pleased. The cream feels really great upon application. It's not so thick I need utensils to get it out of the jar, nor is it watery and runny. The air quality in my city has been all over the place and my skin has been rather dry. My skin felt moisturized and supple, without being sticky or oily. The only "con" if you call it that, is I found I had to reapply to my hands frequently throughout the day. I don't know if that's attributed to the product or the fact that my hands are more exposed to the elements. Either way, I'm enjoying this product and looking forward to trying more from this company.
Thank you again Maple Holistics for this sample. If you would like to read more about Maple Holistics or place an order, find them at www.mapleholistics.com or look for them on www.amazon.com
By now the name "Strathberry" needs no introduction. Thanks to what has been dubbed the "Markle Sparkle"--I am hearing the name of this design house everywhere. It was just a few days ago that bride to be Meghan Markle was pictured wearing a bag from this brand on her first Royal engagement. A self professed handbag aficionado, I can't say that I had heard of this brand until that moment.
Immediately drawn to that one distinctive detail--the gold bar--I had to know more. One click on www.strathberry.com and the love affair began. I would certainly call my new infatuation a whirlwind romance with not one ounce of shame. Reading more about how Strathberry came to be, I couldn't believe that it was just over one year ago that Strathberry had a campaign on Kickstarter as they were working to take their designs global. One appearance and 11 seconds later--the site crashed and there is a waiting list into the thousands. Believe in miracles much?? This sudden burst of success just proves that you never know when you're on the cusp of a life changing breakthrough.
Selecting a favorite just may be the equivalent of picking a "favorite" among your children, but you will no doubt find that many of these handbags will be your favorite. At this moment, I'm hopelessly in love with this beauty-- the Midi Tote in Taupe--which of course is sold out.
