I am woman hear me roar!! I had no doubts that today's simultaneous marches around the globe would be anything short of amazing, but I honestly was not at all prepared for what I have been viewing on screen. There are not enough words in the English language or any other for that matter to describe the overwhelming sense of pride I have felt today. Seeing such richly diverse crowds of every nationality, ethnic background, gender and religion. Men, women, boys, girls, millennials, and seniors--the display of solidarity was simply beautiful.
Although I so wish this march had not been necessary, that a candidate with integrity and vision--- one that truly supported and believed in equality, unity, respect, and diversity would have stood at the helm--just maybe the election of 2016 is what was needed to reignite the flame of activism and genuine sense of community.
Implementing change is never an easy task, just look to the suffrage movement and the civil rights movement, but unity and passion are a powerful cocktail. As history has shown us, when people stand together--resisting hatred and injustice--anything is possible. From Antarctica--what!-- to Barcelona, Rome, London, L.A. , Atlanta and D.C.( not to mention every cosmopolitan city in between) people that believe in ONE nation, took a firm stand against hateful rhetoric and unjust, hurtful policies to make their voices heard--peacefully. Today's demonstrations weren't a closing ceremony to a questionable election, but rather the response...can you hear us now? Women are strong, beautiful, and most of all powerful.
There is absolutely nothing we can't accomplish when we stand together and support one another. By now the marchers have dispersed and the streets cleared, but the work has just begun. The freedoms and liberties for which many shed blood and died for all of us to enjoy must not be in vain and with this heightened sense of awareness and determination, I truly believe they won't be. The future is uncertain, but bright. I'm excited and optimistic. To the organizers and marchers, take a bow --well done.
Enjoy these amazing images from the many marches around the world. Til next time lovelies.(pics not my own)
Hello lovelies! I sure hope you all had a wonderful weekend. As promised, I'm bringing you my thoughts and opinions on the latest foundation from the L'Oreal Infallible line. Thus far L'Oreal has given us Pro-Matte, Pro-Glow and now Total Cover.
I have been eagerly awaiting this latest offering, but it took what felt like a lifetime before my store received the product. Much to my disappointment, they were sold out of the concealer/correction palette, so I couldn't review them at the same time as I had hoped. So, without further ado, let's get into it!
I normally stick with my beloved True Match when buying within the L'Oreal family, but I love trying matte and full cover foundations. The first positive with the L'Oreal Total Cover for me is the shade match. Sometimes with a new formula, even from the same line, the shade you wear may change, not to mention that due to the packaging, it's a bit challenging to tell.
Not the case with this foundation--as a matter of fact, I wear the same shade (Carmel Beige) across the board in the L'Oreal family. What a relief. Nobody likes wasting money on a shade of foundation they can't use.
As a long time customer, L'Oreal for me is a trusted and dependable brand in terms of the quality of product and the price point. My expectations were high for these reasons and overall I can report I am quite pleased--as usual.
Texture- The consistency is almost Aiken to that of a meringue (food is always my analogy of choice). Just as the packaging claims of a lightweight and airy feel, it really is. Creamy, but not greasy and buttery smooth. As I squeezed product onto my forearm, there was zero movement or running--this stuff stays put.
Coverage- The difference between "Total Cover" and the previous two lines is supposed to be the amount of coverage provided. Total Cover boasts claims of being a full on camouflage foundation, much like some of the higher end brands we're all familiar with. To get a really accurate picture, I tested and wore on my face of course, but also tried to cover a raised Keloid scar. If you have keloid scarring you know it is not an easy task to battle that red and purple discoloration, not to mention that because the scar is usually raised, that makes any covering all the more difficult. Again, I couldn't get my hands on the concealer palette, so I decided to only try the Total Cover foundation and no concealer to see how well it worked on it's own. I was pretty impressed. Just a bit of product applied to the area with my fingers. No sponge or brush, no concealer--just the Total Cover foundation.
Through tears from praise and heat, it was a really humid day on Sunday, my foundation stayed put and the shade match is phenomenal! L'Oreal has managed to do what many higher end brands have failed to do in that department. For anyone with a yellow or warm skin tone, you know how challenging it can be to find a really good match without leaving your skin looking orange or grey.
Overall I am beyond pleased with the new L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover foundation. The texture is amazing, and the fact there is virtually zero transfer from hand to face or face to tissue in my case, is mind blowing. L'Oreal has knocked it out of the park again.
If you are in need of a lightweight, yet full coverage foundation, I really think you should consider giving this product a try. Hopefully I can soon get my hands on the concealer and when I do, trust I will bring you a full review on that as well. Who knows, you may even get a video. You can likely find this product among other L'Oreal items in your local Walgreens, Target or anywhere else the L'Oreal brand is sold. This line also retails for about $13.00. L'Oreal often has manufacturer coupons in your circular, so keep your eyes peeled and you could score up to $3 off. Until next time, take care lovelies. ;) Angel
